Endless imagination, innovation in beauty along with scientific research for this creative studio whose work has always gone beyond simple fashion hair collections, becoming true works of art.

X-presion was created in 2005, out of the desire of three young men from Madrid—Marco Antonio Restrepo, Jorge Cáncer and Jose Luis Almendral—to bring something new to the hair industry, with innovation that never stops.

The studio’s projects don’t stop with a simple hair style—they become a creative endeavor on all levels, involving music, video, clothing and photography. X-presion has already created more than 20 techniques, including Disruptive Color, Braille Color, #xpresionthread, Super Mario Pixel Art, and, of course, the revolutionary #xpresionpixel. This color technique has taken the dyeing process to a whole new level, creating a pixelated effect on the hair that shows movement. Pixelated hair really took off on social media, with more than 150 million impressions on Instagram, Facebook and in fashion magazines.
X-presion is the youngest group of stylists to have been awarded the AIPP Grand Trophy, the greatest recognition in the hair world. This took place in 2010. The team’s photography also won the New York Photo Award and Spanish National Photo Award. To date, X-presion has been responsible for more than 70 covers in the most important industry magazines, and the group has showcased its work on some of the most prestigious international stages, including Salon International London, International Hairdressing Awards, Tribu-te Show London, Salon International China, Top Hair Dusseldorf, Hair Brazil, Salón Look Madrid and MCB Paris.
X-presion’s main objectives? Coming up with techniques that can bring value to the hair industry, in a creative way and from both business and, most especially, educational points of view. The Spanish trio believes continuous training is necessary in order to develop professional skills and inspire creativity.
